Maybe it’s memories from my childhood, my brother, my sister and I running around the neighborhood without a care in the world. We would spend hours chasing our dreams looking for magical places to be whomever we wished to be that day.
Our favorite place was a ravine just beside the trailer court where we lived, here we built a secret fort where only the chosen ones were invited to enter. This was a enchanting place where we could pretend that we were in a different world , imagination was in abundance and a certain type of freedom that comes with playing outside for hours on end.
So when I see a dandelion I can not possibly see a weed. The sight of the magical flower brings me back to my childhood full of limitless possibilities. I see hopes, dreams, passions, different paths to follow, aspirations or a longing for new things.
My challenge for you today: Next time you are enjoying nature and you run across a dandelion that is just waiting for your wishes. Take a moment, think back to your childhood when you didn’t have a care in the world expect for having fun, make your wish and blow it into reality.
